The Children's Network
…provides funding for children to have opportunities to express and build their natural curiosity and creativity.
About The Children's Network
100% of funds are generated through the proceeds from gumball vending machines* placed throughout Northern WV, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Many gumball machines were originally placed from coast to coast through the Ford Gum Sales Program which was started a century ago by Mason Ford. The program was set up on a franchise-like system and operated within the confines of a sponsorship agreement between a civic club and the company the machine was placed in.
In 2023, all the local machines were taken over by a new sponsor, The Children’s Network, and carry on in the same manner as the founder set up.
The proceeds are donated to the Children’s Network then granted to non-profit organizations and/or other local agencies that provide children’s art programs in their organization.
*The term “Gumball” also is used to refer to the machines that vend bulk candy and small toys.
What the Children's Network Vending Machines look like and how they work:
Most of the machines have 25¢ vends while a few require 50¢. Some are single head machines, some are double or triple heads, and some may be a full rack or machines.
At least one of the multi-head vending machines will have a Children's Network sign displayed in it, and will have the contact information of the service provider.
They will look like the machines posted here and may be placed in any place that has foot traffic.

The gumball vending machines are a service to your employees and/or customers. They are FREE to be placed and are fully maintained and serviced regularly. The machines can vend gumballs, candy, toys, and anything that will fit in a 1" or 2" plastic vending bubble.
